Lauralee Whitcomb- Vice President

This is the part of our website where you can get to know us individually. I am Lauralee Whitcomb, I usually go by Laura . My jobs within our company include secretary, book keeping, scheduling, supervising, purchasing supplies, marketing, coordinating community involvement as well as being an electrician and elctrical student ( I am a 4'th year apprentice) and a teacher to our daughter, Jessica, who is a registered apprentice with our company..

I am currently enrolled in a four year electrical study program through the Rocky Mountain IEC ( Independent Electrical Contractors). I am currently only in my first year of study but do plan to finish the four year program in two years or less. Obviously I have more on the job experience than schooling at this point. In Colorado schooling is not required to become a licensed electrician however it is very important to me to have the "book learning" along with the my on the job experience because in my experience this combination turns out a better and more well rounded electrician.

I have been an electrical apprentice since 2005. Don't let the "apprentice" part fool you, here's what I've been up to the last four years. I started out in commercial work installing the electrical systems in new hotels including fire alarm systems, elevators, AC/Heat units and thermostats, lights, switches, outlets and parking lot lighting. I then moved on to residential work, mostly custom homes and condos. I am now involved in commercial, residential, new and remodel, hot tub installation, and repair work. I have come a long way in four years and am looking forward to getting my journeyman's license soon.

About Us

Our company was born of a need for QUALITY electrical work. Wefound ourselves being asked to cut corners and engage in questionable practices in order to save time or money. We feel that there is never an excuse for putting people at risk and as you can imagine things didn't go well for us when we refused our boss's requests to do these things. While there is no shortage of electrical contractors or electricians we found there's definitely a shortage in the "QUALITY" of the electrical work being done these days.

We are literally building our company from the ground up. We started in May of 2006 with nothing but our family vehicle, personal tools, strong ethics and a set of goals. We are continuing to thrive and grow and look forward to expanding our company in the near future.

Bill Whitcomb-President

I have been a licensed Master electrician since 1995, I started my electrical apprenticeship in 1989 and so I have nearly 20 years of experience in the trade. I spent many years working in the Denver area for a few different electrical contractors. My experience includes many years of electrical construction as well as construction management, estimating and business management. I also worked as an apprenticeship instructor for a number of years. Prior to starting in the electrical trade I trained as a carpenter and have worked in various areas of construction most of my life. Although we incorporated American Pride Electric in May of 2006 I have been a registered electrical contractor in the State of Colorado since 1999
